Hello to all!

So, I have finally done it.  I have embarked on my own blogging journey.  This has always been on the back of my mind, and I have finally taken that step.

My love for travel and experiencing the world all began back in 2010 with my very first international experience in a summer study abroad program in China.  The following year I took it a step further and spent an entire semester studying abroad in Costa Rica.  That is where I truly fell completely, head-over-heels in love with Central America… a place I continue to to be drawn back to year after year.

For a few years, school and work became my priority in life… My passion, traveling, was pushed to the back burner.  Until my husband and I took a trip to Croatia for our honeymoon.  We spent 2 weeks traveling around the coast, living out of our backpacks.  That trip set my wanderlust off again.  This time… it was unstoppable.

I have traveled to over 10 different countries and throughout 4 continents.  I travel with the goal of experiencing and learning as much as I can about a country’s culture, life, and people.  I’ve traveled to study, to volunteer, and to simply wander.  Each time, I have learned so much and my passion for connecting with the world grows stronger.

I want to share this passion to connect with the world by experiencing it through travel.  As a full-time public school teacher, I didn’t think it was possible to travel the world with my budget or my time.  I thought to experience another culture and travel to the places I wanted to go I would need to quit my job and trade it in for the backpacker lifestyle.  However, I learned that even during the school year, when you combine planning with flexibility, global travel is possible.

In the past year, I have traveled to 5 different countries in 3 different continents. One of which was an international getaway weekend in Mexico City with my husband.  Yes! You can have an exciting international trip in a weekend!  So far I have traveled in my home country of the USA, China, France, Spain, Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Peru.

My current escape plan: Spending a month in Panama this July, a country I am so excited to return to!

Follow me as I share how I plan, budget, explore, and experience the world throughout my travels.

Let the adventure begin!

Bon Voyage, Jackie!
